ARIANA GRANDE

 Ariana Grande-Butera was born on June 26 1993 in Boca Raton, Florida to mother Joan Grande the CEO of Hose-McCann Communications and Edward Butera, a graphic design firm owner in Boca Raton. Ariana is also the half-sister to Frankie Grande who is known as an entertainer and producer. Ariana Grande is known as an American singer, songwriter, and actress.  Grande began her career in the 2008 Broadway musical 13. She rose to fame for her role as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious (2010–2013) and Sam & Cat (2013–2014). But before then Ariana Grande- as a youth- performed with the Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theater,  playing her first role as the title character in their version of the musical Annie. Throughout Ariana Grande’s childhood she was very musically inclined and showcased it in musicals and other platforms while attending Florida’s Pine Crest School and later North Broward Preparatory School. By age 13 Ariana wanted to fully pursue her goal as a singer and even stated that she wanted  ( and I quote) “to make an R&B album”. However that dream was put on the back burner and  as stated before she joined the musical theatre of 13 on Broadway as the role of a cheerleader.

Between 2009 and 2012 Ariana Grande was one of 13 main cast members in the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious. Yup that’s right Victorious. You guys remember right! She played Cat Valentine and her role was played as an adorably dimwitted red head with a magical voice. On a side note in order to keep up her character as a redhead Ariana Grande had to dye her hair EVERY week for her role which overtime caused serious damage to her hair. Although her role in the sitcom helped her gain (quote on quote) teen idol recognition she made it known that although acting was (and I quote) “fun… music has always been first and foremost with me.” (close quote). And with that being said once the first season of Victorious wrapped up Ariana Grande made it her goal to focus on  pursuing her music career. She started off by working with vocal coach Eric Vetro to strengthen her vocal range as well as doing covers of Adelle, Whitney Houton and Mariah Carey and uploading them to Youtube, as well as appearing in music videos such as “Unfriend You” by Greyson Chance and “Give it Up “ from the Victorious soundtrack.

Grande released her first single, “Put Your Hearts Up“, in December 2011, however she later disowned the track because that was not the genre of music she intended on creating. With her music career started but still in limbo Arianna Grande starred in A Snow White Christmas and the Nickelodeon short lived Sam & Cat mini series. On August 30, 2013 Ariana Grande dropped her first ever debut album Yours Truly which landed at #1 on the Billboards Tops 200. Unfortunately Grande was later sued for her single “The Way”  by Minder Music for copying the line “What we gotta do right here is go back, back in time” from the 1972 song “Troglodyte (CaveMan)” by The Jimmy Castor Bunch. But that didn’t stop her passion and goal for the music industry Hitting at #4 in the Billboards. Between winning Awards, singing at the White House and performing on SNL Ariana Grande was on a roll with her music career.

With her first album out and striving Ariana Grande released her second album on August 25th 2015 entitled MY EVERYTHING! On that one album alone “Problem” and “Break Free” along with “ Bang Bang” ( which Grande collabed with Nicki Minaj) Ariana joined Adele as the only female artist with three top ten singles simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist. In February 2015, Grande embarked on her first worldwide concert tour, The Honeymoon Tour, to further promote My Everything, with shows in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. And between late 2015 into 2016 Ariana Grande released her third album titled Dangerous Woman which was originally titled Moonlight.  With her singles topping the Billboard charts Ariana Grande was making her mark in the music industry and in August 2016, Grande performed a tribute to the late Whitney Houston on the season finale of the ABC television series Greatest Hits. Amidst her music career Ariana Grande continued her acting career when she guest-starred on several episodes of the Fox comedy-horror television series Scream Queens as Sonya Herfmann/Chanel #2 (I don’t know about you guys but that used to be my show for a minute). Sadly, tragedy struck on May 22, 2017, when her concert at Manchester Arena was the target of a suicide bombing. The attack was a shrapnel-laden homemade bomb detonated by an Islamic extremist as people were leaving the arena which killed 23 people and injured hundreds. Although Grande suspended the remainder of the tour and suffered from PTSD she held a televised benefit concert, One Love Manchester, on June 4 which helped raise $23 million to aid the bombing’s victims and affected families. In recognition of her efforts, the Manchester City Council named Grande the first honorary citizen of Manchester. On that note I just want to put it out there that Ariana Grande is not only a musician and actor but she is also a activist and philanthropist and has been one since the age of 10 when she co-founded the South Florida youth singing group- Kids Who Care, which performed at charitable fund-raising events and raised over $500,000 in 2007 alone.

As for her personal life Ariana Grande has dated Graham Philips and Mac Miller ( who rest his soul- died of a drug overdose) and was also engaged to Pete Davidson however it was announced that they broke off the engagement back in October of 2018. Amongst her many accolades Ariana Grande has won over 128 Awards including Artist of the Year in 2015, Female Artist of the Year in 2019 and Hero of the Year Award in 2018 just to name a few. Aside from all of that at present Ariana Grande and Justin Beiber teamed up and released “Stuck With U” on May 28th of 2020 and the net proceeds from the sales of the song were donated to the First Responders Children’s Foundation in light of the current pandemic. Furthermore, as of 2020 Grande became the highest-earning woman in music on Forbes magazine’s 2020 Celebrity 100 list. To me Ariana Grande is an angel sent from up above and in our eyes she can do no wrong lol. Some of her music include Rain On Me (2020), Thank U- Next (2019), Into You (2016) and 7 Ring (2018).
