On December 1, 1985 in Kansas City, Kansas- American singer, songwriter, rapper, model actress, and producer, Janelle Monáe Robinson was born to mother Janet -a hotel maid & janitor- and father Michael a truck driver. Although her parents split at an early age Janelle Monae’s mother remarried and the outcome of that marriage was Janell’s sister Kimmy. Raised in a Baptist church Janelle Monae is a descendant of a musically inclined family and her voice is that of a mezzo-soprano. After Janelle Monae attended F. L. Schlagle (shalgul) High School she moved to New York to study musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy being the only black person in her class. In 2006 Janelle Monae signed to Bad Boy Records founded by Sean Combs a.k.a P. Between then and 2015 Tory Lanez released multiple beats and also signed to Benny Blanco‘s Mad Love Records and Interscope Records. For those of us that have followed the troubled rapper Tory Lanez throughout his musical career then you’ll know that he has had entanglements/ BEEFS with artists such as Drake, Jacquees and Don Q to name a few.

And as for Tory Lanez’s legal issues well in 2016 due to a violent scuffle incited during one of his concerts the venue and promoter took legal action against Tory Lanez for telling the crowded to “FUCK SHIT UP” which initiated a full on riot. As for his most recent and trending legal issue is one in which involves the shooting of rap artist Megan Thee Stallion on July 12, 2020. Although Lanez was arrested in the Hollywood Hills and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle it is still unclear if he was the one that shot the female rapper. Unfortunately, a petition has been launched to deport the male rapper- Tory Lanez. Let’s see where this legal issue with Tory Lanez goes. BTW thankfully Megan Thee Stallion has been hospitalized and we hope she has a speedy recovery!

Andrae Hugh Sutherland born July 19th, 1988, known professionally as Popcaan, is a Jamaican deejay, singer and songwriter from the parish of Saint Thomas.
